But Not in Heart

I was a loner
And felt I didn't belong
To the 'friends' I had in school
We sang a different song.

Then by chance I 'met' you
Both strangers at first sight
Friendship and trust came slowly
It didn't happen overnight.

Though separated by distance
And we never saw each other's face
A strong bond of friendship formed
Could it all be fate?

Well maybe, maybe not
But I wouldn't give a care
To how in the world out friendship formed
I'm glad you're just...THERE!
